I really enjoyed his first book, The Miracle Morning and was excited to read this one I found the book to be oversimplified, believe you can do something and work really hard at it The book was very difficult to get into and had to force myself to continue. I respect what Hal has been through in his life and I liked the other books I ve read from him This one, however, is a I m better than you lecture disguised as a self help book and a repetitive, poorly edited one at that. Hal Elrod has done it again I read his book The Miracle Morning three years ago, and have been following his Miracle Morning community since then When I heard he was writing The Miracle Equation following his cancer journey, I was intrigued Hal does an extraordinary job explaining how to turn your biggest goals from possible, to probable, to inevitable I was skeptical at first that only two decisions can turn one s goals into results I loved how Hal breaks down the two decisions unwavering faith extraordinary efforts into achieving our biggest goals The style in which Hal writes makes him very relatable and I appreciate his positive outlook on life The chapter on becoming emotionally invincible and the 5 minute rule resonated with me the most and I ve already started applying it to my life Hal s explanation that the purpose behind goal achievement is to develop the qualities and characterist I m a Hal Elrod fangirl Otherwise, I would never have read this book But I love him so much that I was like, okay, let s see what this miracle equation is about I had barely any idea what it was about going into this book, as I bought the audiobook on a whim This book was not something I felt was for me, as I don t have big goals I haven t already achieved i.e moving to Australia or am not already pursuing becoming a teacher and becoming a permanent resident in Australia So listening to Hal was pleasant, but I didn t feel like I needed the advice given However, this book found me at the right time There was one chapter, and only one, that was really useful, and this chapter is worth a lot of stars by itself, so that s why the whole book is easily a 4 star read to me My mental health is not going great these days I just spent one of the worst months of my life, mentally speaking And then, hearing Hal talk about resilience, about emotional and inner peace, about the can t change it mindset, it all clicked I felt like it resonat I first came across Hal Elrod about 2 ish years ago, when and youtubers were telling stories of how their life changed since implementing the Miracle Morning he promoted in his probably most popular book I only know him through that one, so my guess might be bias I never really gave it a second thought though. After listening to a podcast where he was the guest for the day, it finally clicked and I gave this book a try I would also claim it s changed my life already, despite it only having been a week or so since I heard his story and read this book. The two main principles are 1 Unwavering Faith in yourself or whatever you want to believe in but it s mostly about believing you can achieve what you want to achieve even if you re not really believing it, like I can run an ultramarathon It really comes down toWhether you think that you can or that you can t you re right. Henry Ford 2 Extraordinary Effort Wishing and believing go no way unless you start acting Seems simple enough but this is nevertheless the pitfall why people fail their ambitions If you want to achieve things you ve not done before say run a marathon, lose 50 pounds , you also have to put in the effort and do things you ve not done before i.e train and run your weekly miles, track your food and exercise. This book is short I ve read hundreds of non fiction titles mostly self help and business There is absolutely nothing new here, and I think the author would agree with me Still, it s solid info, told in a nice casual way The book is absolutely solid in it s approach It s not particularly memorable for me, but I would certainly recommend it I haven t read any of his other books, so I don t come to this book with preconceived Hal Elrod has just launched his latest book The Miracle Equation. If you are the type of person who has big goals and you have been planning your success for years but just haven t quite got your finger out and realised your dreams this is the book for you Hal Elrod, wrote the Miracle Morning The Miracle Morning also has thriving online community who all commit every day to getting up early doing SAVERS six habits of self development which leads them to live dynamic and driven lives Like the Miracle Morning The Miracle Equation is a simple but extremely effective system In fact what is best about the book is it takes this concept and shows you how it works, two decisions that move your biggest goal from possible to probable to inevitable Hal just makes this literal equation work unwavering faith and extraordinary effort equal miracles I have personally been involved with the Miracle morning community for over two years and what is good about Hal and his books is they are made up of a simple system, this coupled with an accountable online fb community, helps to keep you on track and gives you support There is no big secret, no woo woo, just straightforward techniques that work In the Miracle Equation book, Hal uncovers his personal experience of
